The Photography Movement
The Photography Movement was conceived by myself and best friend Scott Shillum, who had both lost close family and friends to suicide.
In May 2017, in partnership with Getty Images and the male suicide prevention charity CALM, we curated and hosted a photography exhibition exploring ‘modern day masculinity’ which showcased a wide array of interpretations of what it means to be a man in today’s world.
The images received were accompanied with insightful and touching stories around mental health from over 80 amateur and professional photographers, including Getty photographers and legendary image-makers Martin Parr and Rankin.
We are now a not-for-profit movement that uses photography to promote conversation around mental health and wellbeing. I am proud to have activated many successful campaigns in recent years. They can all be viewed at: https://www.thephotographymovement.com/
