Hackett Christies exhibition
An exhibition at Christies gallery to celebrate 150 years of Polo, sponsored by Hackett. I organised and curated the exhibition with art curator Carrie Scott, sourcing works from Getty Archive and polo art collectors, along with unique contemporary works by the photographer Uli Weber, that I creatively directed. The much feted exhibition gave an historic insight into Polo over the last 150 years as well as raising funds for the Polo charity.
The challenge was to find a contemporary photographer who could marry the long standing relationship between Hackett and Army Polo and celebrate 150 years of Polo, through an exhibition at Christies.
I had met photographer Uli Weber through The Photography Movement and knew of his outstanding equestrian and fashion photography.
The idea was inspired by a story in The Telegraph Magazine, about The Devil’s Horsemen, who supply horses and stuntmen to the film industry. A stuntman was found who could marry the traditions of Polo with stunt riding.
Uli’s startlingly original shots became the major part of the exhibition at Christies of London. He also created a film of the shoot which was used on invites and social. See the rest of the article in exhibitions.
