A chance meeting whilst scouting for a location revealed the Dale Boxing club. Untouched in over ten years with all the artefacts still intact and the building about to be demolished for a luxury redevelopment the following week.
I managed to convince the owner to let me photograph this incredible space which inspired me to find and document the Dale boxing story.
I was told some incredible stories and tracked down a few of the young boxers who were in some of the photos shown here. Their success in business is owed to the discipline and structure that Dale boxing offered them as children.
This culminated in my photography exhibition at the C99 Gallery in West London.
